How do I get to Nekkies by car?

Follow the N1 freeway towards Paarl, continue until you reach the toll plaza by Du Toit’s Kloof tunnel. Drive through the tunnel, following the N1 for 14km, turn right onto the R101 towards Rawsonville for 10km. Continue on Van Riebeeck Street for 12km until you arrive at the entrance to Nekkies Resort.

What is the festival about, what can I expect?

The idea for the Symmetry Full Moon Music Festival was born out of a love for music and a desire to bring people together. Attendees can expect a weekend of music, entertainment, camping, games, competitions, give-aways, swimming, great food, and fun in the sun. Our line up features artists from around the world, and we guarantee an unforgettable experience!

Can I buy a one-day pass?

Only weekend tickets can be purchased, there are no tickets for individual days.

What services will be available at the festival?

Experienced event security staff, Howler access staff and wristband collection, campsite staff, market with a mini-pharmacy, waste management and cleaners, permanent bathroom attendants and extra fancy toilets in remote spaces (no porta pottys), lost and found, information, medics and ambulances, Symmetry stewards, water refill stations, free WIFI access, and lifeguards.

How many people will be attending?

The maximum capacity at the venue is 5,500 people.

Can I braai, and bring my own food?

Unfortunately, no fires are allowed. No food is allowed into the venue. There are various food trucks with delicious options to pick from. POS machines are available throughout the venue.

What dining options will be open?

There will be various food trucks available at the venue.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

Yes you can, but you must decanter into a plastic container prior to arrival. Strictly no glass allowed. Security reserves the right to confiscate any liquids in glass bottles and glasses. Beers and ciders are not allowed into the venue. You may bring your own water and soft drinks. Free drinking water is available.

Is there WIFI at the venue?

Yes, free WIFI access is available.

Do I need my ID card to enter?

Yes, your ID card is required at all access points and at security checks throughout the venue.

What forms of ID are acceptable and unacceptable?

Acceptable forms of ID for entry:

– SA ID book or card
– SA Driver’s Licence
– SA Passport
– Passport of foreign national with ID photo

Unacceptable forms of ID:
– Student Cards
– Birth Certificates
– Learner’s Licence
– Photocopies of ID documents

If I leave, can I re-enter?

You may leave the venue and re-enter, you will be checked-out when exiting the venue. Security reserves the right to remove your wristband when you exit the venue.

If you are in vehicle camping, we ask to notify security an hour prior to leaving, if you re-enter after 00:00 you will be directed to a designated parking area, until 08:00 when you can move to the vehicle camping area.

Before re-entry into the venue area and festival grounds, ticket holders will need to go through strict security checks again.

Is parking available?

Yes, standard parking and disabled parking is available.
A weekend parking pass is R250 per vehicle, not included in the ticket fee, payable by cash or card at the parking entrance. Vehicle camping is available, a weekend vehicle camping pass is R500 per vehicle/campervan/caravan. There are no toilets and shower facilities in the car park areas.
Drinking, gatherings and playing music is not allowed in the car parks as it’s next to camping areas.

What facilities are available at the camp sites?

Each ticket includes a 3m x 3m camping spot, each camping spot accommodates up to 4 people. Electricity is not available in the camping areas. Secure and free charge points will be available. There are 3 camping zones: Bush Camp, River Camp and Pool Camp. For attendee safety, vehicles are not allowed in the standard camping areas, no drop-offs are allowed. The campsites are all on grass with ablution facilities nearby. The Pool Camp has a 600m² sparkling swimming pool and a pool bar. Vehicle/caravan/campervan camping is available at an additional R500 per vehicle for a 5m x 5m space, available to purchase via Howler. Vehicles who do not have a vehicle camping pass, my not enter the vehicle camping area. All camping spaces are first-come, first-served, please follow the direction of campsite staff to the next available space, we have allocated areas for walkways, toilets and free shower facilities. Staff will be on hand to assist in setting up tents if required. The venue and organiser do not provide tents or glamping. Security is provided in the camping areas, but we take no responsibility for items being stolen out of tents. We advise to bring a tent lock.

Can I get a refund?

We do not provide any refunds, you may transfer your ticket to someone else via your Howler profile. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for our refund and cancellation policy.

Can I dress up?

Yes you can! Attendees are encouraged to dress up.

What is the Symmetry attendee promise?

Please consider planning ahead and bringing a wheelchair or other aids. The event does not provide wheelchair rentals or motorised transportation.

Do you have a lost and found service?

We have designated Lost & Found located by the VOC Office, where attendees can hand in items found or make enquiries about anything lost. We have sufficient secure storage to safeguard valuable items. We log all items that are handed in by taking a photo of the item, logging full details of the item, the time and place.

We advise attendees to lock their phones and ensure passwords aren’t automatically saved.

If you have misplaced anything, you can check our Lost & Found Catalogue on our website after the festival. If the item is not on the list, we accept applications for lost property, email  [email protected] to make an application for lost property, including the item brand, codes, passwords, full description, details of where and when the items were last seen.

Items without an ID will be held for 30 consecutive days after the festival, after that the item will be donated to a charity of our choosing, this includes glasses, bags, jewellery, watches and clothes. For more valuable property like mobile phones, cameras, bank cards, passports, wallets and driving licences they may be held for up to 90 consecutive days, before being handed to the police or securely destroyed.

Once the item has been handed over to its owner, the ID and contact details of the owner is required to close out the item on our system.

We encourage our attendees to adopt our honesty policy when finding items.
